A teacher created a pptx on her computer and added some background mudic (wma file). On her computer, it plays fine. On any other computer, (office 03 or 07), the slide show will play, just with no music.

Any ideas why and how to correct this issue?

She might have used a DRM-ed WMA file for the music.  If that's the case, she won't be able to move that audio file to another machine without stripping off the DRM encryption.

Tell her to put the music and the Power Point on an usb drive and then link the music from the usb drive.

The few times that I have done it, I've put the music file in the same directory as the power point file.

Make sure that you delete the music attachment to that particular slide and reattach it once you have the music file in the directory that you want.

I have a dumb question...Did she also copy the music files along with the pptx to the second computer? The power point may have a linked music file to the original computer's my documents/mymusic folder. On the new computer it may still be trying to find it in mydocuments/my music which might not exist on the new computer. Open the ppt and check the properties of the sound on the particular slide to make sure the path to the music file is correct.
